A Moua Christmas

This year was such a blessing...I had two families to celebrate Christmas with.  It was such a blessing.  Before Koob and I got married, we were worried about how to split our Thanksgiving and Christmas between each family...well this year, it worked out well.  I took some family photos with my side on Thanksgiving and family photos with Koob's side for Christmas...well let me tell you...both time was sure exhausting...

Here is one of my favs from this Christmas...it was with my MIL with all of her grandbabies.  This one cracked me up because little Izzie just couldn't sit down...she's adorable and stole the spot light...enjoy...

Lieu Christmas Portrait

Merry Christmas!!!  So, it's that time of year where we get to celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ's birth...and had a ding moment...this is the only season where it's concentrated on love...sure you have valentines but that's not the same as family love...so many type of love... :)

okay, enough...this was my only Christmas session because I was busy doing other projects on the side but with baby Anneliese, what could go wrong.  She's so adorable.  She has this face that she does quite often and her uncle Koob had put a quote to it: "What happen?"...it's funnier in person...but enjoy...and again...

Merry Christmas...

said Uncle Koob: "What happend?"

Mengo & Pana Wedding 12/9/10

Mengo & Pana

My cousin Meng and I grew up in the same house for a good couple of our childhood years.  They later on went and moved up to north cal.  His nick name was Mengo and every now and than I still find myself calling him Mengo.  Give and take a couple of years, here we are at his wedding.

Let’s rewind for a bit.  My auntie and her family has gone thru so much these last couple of months and yet my aunt still praises and has kept her faith in Jesus...she’s never stopped praying for any of her kids and herself.  I really do admire all that my auntie has done and will do.  I guess you can say, her kids are great because she’s great.  Mengo has also gone through a lot, but, he’s come out stronger.  Here he is, marrying a pretty lady (& she’s really really nice) and now they’re expecting.

They had the whole Hmong hoopla a couple of months ago, and had just had their official Hmong wedding this past weekend.  My new sis-n-law (she’s my sis-n-law via Hmong culture) Pana didn’t even ask me to take photos for her.  I knew I was bringing my camera with me anyways and so I just butted in and said I’ll be officially taking photos.  It was a beautiful day and very emotional too.  Mengo, love you buddy.  Pana, welcome to the family.  Can’t wait to meet the little one soon.  Here are some of my favs…

This little one just couldn't wait to have her cake and eat it too

2011 black and white photos & maybe sephia photos

So yesterday, my co-worker which also is a fanatic about photography, had put a thick book on my desk.  One line stuck out: Let's put black & white back into black & white.  I was like, wait a minute, wait a minute...i got it...

This book contained nothing but black and white photos...oh my goose...those images were so awesome.  I was feeling so inspired...

Some of the photos were so simple but yet so complex...IT WAS AWESOME...one of my favorite was of a chubby chick...I'm chubby too so maybe that's why I liked it...but anyways...it was of a chubby chick who was butt naked...but she was sitting on a plastic crate and ....oh wait...i can't explain it...okay...let's go at it again...

you know when you've been sitting down on a worn out leather couch...when you get up...your butt indention is there...well...this chubby lady had been sitting butt naked on one of those plastic crates and when she got up, her butt had the crate mark on her butt...

okay, this is why there's the saying: a photo is worth a thousand words...whatever...if i find it...I'll post it...but it was hilarious....

SO anyways, going on, I think for my challenge, I'm going to attempt it in nothing but black and whites...maybe add some sepia's...what do you think?  can't wait...but kind of nervous for this challenge as well...wish me luck and lots of prayers please...

365 photo project starting January 2011

So, I found this idea from another photographer and I was like: Ding...great project...it'll help me be innovative and force me out of my comfort zone.  It'll force me to get to know more about my camera and so forth...so this is the deal, and hopefully I keep to it...I'll take at the least 5 photos a day and post up my favorite one...It can vary, whether it be landscape, my favorite model, and so forth...Jan 2011...no more of: I'm going to try and lose weight...or stop watching so much musicals...

okay...I'm done...= )

Shanna

Shanna is a co-worker and I love love her.  She's so bubbly and happy and upbeat...excuse my run-on but once you meet her...she's an awesome person.  She's so fun to shoot.  She has one of the best, brightest smiles out there...it's quite contagious.

This photo session was a journey in itself.  We scheduled, and than had to cancel.  Scheduled, and had to cancel.  I was so glad this time around it was smooth...Here are some of my favorites.

P.S.

She had on some Victoria Secret boots...man oh man...they were hot...I had to make sure they got their own frame.  Enjoy.

First Time Mom and Prego

I'm pregnant!!!  Just kidding.  One day...BUT...my sister-in-law is.  She recently started an online blog.  So, why am I writing about this?  It is because...now these days...ladies are waiting longer and longer to get married.  Why?  Because they want to become more established instead of relying on a guy to do everything for them...INDEPENDENCE....Yaay!!!

So my sis-n-law Judy is nearing 30, and this is her first baby.  It's a baby girl.  I feel like her pregnancy has been very short but in her world, this baby girl can't pop out quick enough.  I myself am 27 and feel as though my time is TOTALLY tick-tocking...Koob and I barely got married, and I think i mentioned this before but...

When you're single, most questions directed to you is:  Oh...you're not married yet?
When you're married, it's: So, is there anything special in your tummy yet?
I say:  yup...my burrito... = )

No just joking but just this past weekend, my grandma's baby brother had past away and was up in fresno for the funeral.  All my grandmas, aunties, you name it, they asked....Are you prego yet?  Even one of them came up behind me and patted my big belly...

Anyways, I feel as though what Judy is going thru at the minute, is what I'm probably going to be facing when Koob and I are ready to pop some of our own little ones.  Judy has been tired and my MIL said, when we had kids, we did everything...Judy responded with: but you were done having kids by my age...very true...

So guys, visit her blog...see what she's going and get pointers or maybe just a great laugh...

Baby Victoria

Baby Victoria.  She so sweet.  She's had a harder life than I have had already.  It was thru prayer that she's here being annoyed by her "grandma"...don't ask...I don't know how but...whatever...I won't go there.  I was in her face, snapping away and she was just like: 'whatever' until...i stuck her inside a basket.  Check out these photos of a precious bundle of joy...

Couple Session: Emily & Meng

My very first blog.

I've debated about starting a blog way back when but had always had an excuse to always push it off for later.  Now that I'm feeling a bit more confident about my final products, I've decided, what the hey.  In addition, thanks to those who has pushed me to starting one...= ) Caroline...

I have many other photos that I wanted to first post up, but there's a lot.  Since I'm done editing this session, I'll start with this and make my way back.  (Since this is a photo journal anyways.)

These two love birds were awesome to shoot.  I don't know how long they've dated but they have something most people spend their whole lives trying to find.  Meng was so compassionate towards Emily.  He held her hand to help her off this steep bridge I had them cross.  Emily is a joy.  She's just beautiful thru and thru.

Here are photos I took of those two love birds.  I hope you enjoy them.

Until next time...pfy
